Over $17,000 in Prize Money October 23

The National Championship Barbecue Cookoff, now in it's 22nd year, is an invitation only event for cookers who have won or placed in a recognized barbecue cookoff during the past year. Last year, over 150 cooking teams competed for over $19,000 in prize money. Peripheral events to the cook-off include the Arts and Crafts Show, Bosque Bottoms 5k and 2k Fun Run, Antique Tractor Show and Pull, Car Show, Children's Activities, Gunfighters Performances, Live Music under the Pavilion, Parade and a visit from Miss Teen Texas. Spectators Welcome! Gate admission is $6 per person, children under 12 are admitted free. If you are looking for a great time, great food and great people then you must plan a trip to Meridian, Texas in Bosque County on October 24th. You will be amazed at the friendliness and hospitality provided by everyone involved. So grab the kids, come on down and have some of the best barbecue you have ever tasted! |
